Lucky Cat Museum

Recently, I took a visit to Cincinnati to visit family. We decided to check out a few local places, on of which was the Lucky Cat Museum.

It's amazing. An explosion of cat statues left and right. I was surprised the amount of figurines that were based off of popular fictional characters, like Tom & Jerry or Doraemon.

The curator was bubbly and personable and had incredible insight about the history of the Maneki-neko.

If you visit Cincinnati, be sure to give it a look!

Happy holidays! Have a winter-themed photo.

It's been quite a while hasn't it?

I'll share another one of my interests: video games! Been playing them since I was young and to this day the magic of video games isn't lost on me. My favorite genre is RPGs, but I dabble in Platformers and Roguelikes.

Here's a video of some random gameplay from Pokemon Sword Version.

Photography

I've recently been getting back into photography. It's a hobby that helped me stay active and outside after the pandemic.

I enjoy taking shots of nature, especially flowers and insects.

Here are a few of my favorite photos I've taken in the past. Enjoy!

Hello, world!

I've finally made my first website! To give an idea of my process of making it, I'll go over the resources used.

To create the website, I used the Middleman Ruby gem to create a static website, which utilizes Ruby, HTML, CSS, SCSS, and Javascript. I also utilized jQuery for my scripts.

I would then have middleman build the site, and that build would then be transferred through an SFTP protocol onto my Raspberry Pi 5.

My Raspberry Pi 5 (which is in the picture) has an Apache HTTP server. Once the files are transferred, the server will then display those files as a website.

I then use Cloudflare Tunnels, a free web hosting service, to survey traffic for me and make the site secure.

Lastly, I bought a web domain and connected it to my web server.

And voila! A bit scrappy, but it works.
